Inspiration behind the Design:
1 Corinthians 15: 51 “Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— 52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. 54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”
The King James version of 1 Corinthians 15:53 says “Put on Immortality!” I like that. IT IS YOURS! You remember that scene in the movie Troy? Achilles is standing on the bow of the boat approaching the shores of Troy. A city that had never been breached. He stands on the bow of the boat, he turns back and gives this wicked speech to his comrades and then he finishes by swinging back to look towards the beach and screams: “Immortality – Take it! Its’ yours!” Boy what a great illustration of the opportunity that is available to all of us. Immortality there to be taken by the brave. I for one have set it in my heart and in my mind to take. I’ve already received it. Every day I perceive myself as immortal from now on. Now there is no fear of death, unless I choose to give up my life freely. In Philippians 1:21 Paul says “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” His life wasn’t a box full of chocolates. It was hard. He knew he could have lived forever, but he served as a brave soldier for long enough and went to receive his crown in rest. If the dead aren’t raised then all of this is for nothing.
