Inspiration behind the Design:
I am really really proud of this design, because there is a really cool story behind this design. Back in late 2020, I really had very little exposure to any Christian music beyond Hillsong. I thought Christian music was trash, and I’d just spent a long time not listening to Christian music and no music at all for that matter. Around this time I found Kari Jobe totally by accident by a video suggestion on YouTube. Up to this point I had heard one Kari Jobe song. So, one morning I’m heading out to work, and I think to myself, let’s program in a few Kari Jobe song’s to listen to later. I added a few songs to my Spotify queue and went to work. That afternoon I had a run-in with a homeless guy not once but twice on my walk home. I really wanted to help the guy, but his demeanour was very off-putting, he was desperate and not polite. After brushing him off, I walked away and instantly regretted it. I wanted to turn back but I kept walking, sulking to myself. I was talking to God this whole time about how I should have helped this guy, and I wish there was some other way I could help him. I just thought it would be a waste to give this guy money. I said to God, “God, it would be really cool if he would let me pray for him.” All this time that I was walking I had my earphones in and Kari Jobe was playing, but I hadn’t heard a single word. I kid you not, the second I stopped talking to God and stopped sulking was the first time I heard was coming through my earphones, it was Kari Jobe – The Blessing. …I was in shock, ecstatic, and mostly ecstatic, I could not believe what I was hearing. It was the most beautiful, heartfelt, overzealous, scrumptious prayer that I had ever heard, and it was such a beautiful outpouring on someone else. Instantly I knew that that was how God felt about that guy, and that was God’s prayer for that man, and that was my prayer for him too. I was totally undone by that, and sitting here writing this 4 or 5 months later, I still remember that whole experience and how it touched me. Ever since that moment I wanted to put that on a sweatshirt, purely for Christians to express that very heartfelt selfless love for everyone around them. From the least to the greatest. I wanted people to feel that love for them that God feels for them, so I put it on this sweatshirt.
