Inspiration behind the Design:
This design is based on a personal experience that I had with God and it’s a pretty cool testimony and its directly tied to the beginning of this clothing brand.
So when I was first starting up EGK, I was putting in work on the brand, but was pretty close to just having started. I was trying to pick a supplier and so early on I decided that I’d get a few sample sweatshirts made. In the meantime, I was working my regular day job and that’s where our story begins. One day I was leaving work, I lived close enough to walk to and from work. I was just across the street from leaving my work and out of the blue I heard, “If you believe that you can receive what you believe” (a revelation that I was compounding on at the time), God said, “Believe that your hand are on fire right now.” Now this type of communication was regular for me so I said, “Cool. OK God. I believe my hands are on fire right now.” I walked 100 meters further up the street believing my hands were on fire, and then at the 100m mark I heard God say, “imagine your whole body is on fire.” So I said, “OK, God, my whole body is on fire.” Then about 50m after that I said, “God, is this biblical?” instantly he said, “Psalm 104:4 – He makes the winds His messengers, flames of fire His servants.” I said, God, I know that verse, I’m all good with that. So I walk all the way home believing I was on fire.
The next day, I wake up and check twitter, I follow about 8 people, all bitcoin related people. That very next morning someone posted a meme of Michael Saylor and he was holding up his hand in front of him looking at it, and it was on fire but not burning up. The meme said, “I give you fire and you trade it”. Obviously the meme was about the new type of technological discovery we have with Bitcoin and the fact that small minded people want to give it away for dollars. So I took note of that. The next day, my sample sweatshirts arrived, so I wore them all weekend. It was the first time I was wearing Christian clothes and promoting a new Christian message into the collective consciousness. That Sunday morning at Church I walked in about 60 seconds late and had missed about 30 seconds of introduction. The first thing that I heard walking into church was from the assistant pastor speaking at the pulpit and she said “I see lighting striking people in this church.” I had just been praying on my way to church that others in the church would also be set on fire. I got home and was reading my bible that night, I opened up to Mark because I was reading the new testament chronologically again and that’s where I happened to be up to, and the chapter 1 verse 28 said “So the reports about Jesus spread like wildfire throughout every community in Galilee. There was even more confirmation following on the days after this, but it was a confirmation to me that this clothing brand was from God.
