Inspiration behind the Design:
I really like this sweatshirt because, when people first see you from the front, they’re only going to see a secular funny graphic, and they’ll probably just like the sweatshirt. I like that it’s funny and playful and has that childish fun side to it, and then on the back we really drive the nail into the coffin. I think that’s quite funny.
But I think the message is pretty clear, we’ve all heard the old adage, you are what you eat. And Jesus says, I am the bread of Life, eat me and you will never die. The message is immortality. The message is if you mediate and you chew on, and you regurgitate and the you chew it again and you digest Jesus and all that he is and all that he’s done, you become conformed to the image of God, as he is so are you in this world. It’s funny, when I tried explaining this to a Christian lady the first time I ever got this revelation – and boy did I explain it well – she said, “Yes, but Jesus also said, ‘I am the vine, and you should remain in me’”. I was flabbergasted. I was like, “O….K… What is YOUR point?!?!??!” OH my Goodness! I broke this down so good for her! And the benefits of what this leads to if you put it into practice is mind-blowing! THIS IS HOW YOU BECOME LIKE GOD AND BE IMMORTAL! – “Jesus is a vine tho…”
I strongly encourage you to go do some googling about eating Jesus, go listen to some hymns about eating Jesus, find it in the bible where it talks about eating Jesus and scrolls and other things, listen to Justin Paul Abraham talk about eating Jesus. The secret is in eating Jesus. Because you are what you eat.
